Twin Cities born & raised, I work-in-place as a staff software engineer, working on application platform things and developer tools to support product engineers.
I like to work with a lot of different types of software, platforms, languages, and frameworks. You should

I've worked on embedded systems and operating systems, to product teams building complex systems on Rails and large UI applications in Ember, and sat on infrastructure teams managing production cloud infrastructure. Getting to work from the lower levels of the stack all the way up to where the user interacts particularly excites me. On the side, I enjoy hacking on Rust stuff, parsers and developer tools in Crystal, and fumbling my way through writing, drawing, and building a point-and-click adventure game. I'm also fond of compilers, structured concurrency, reverse engineering, poking fun at things, playing around with new infrastructure automation tools, and over-engineering my home network for funsies.
Outside of software, I'm an amateur pixel artist, slightly-above-average writer, just-scraping-by dog wrangler, and teetering-on-overwhelmed homeowner. Though it's slowed due to the ongoing global pandemic happening, you can also find me traveling, trialling new restaurants, or trying to recreate a goulash I had once (I keep a photo of stored in my phone and look at it longingly sometimes.)
